Mount Everest is called Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma, the mother goddess of the earth in Tibetan language. The height of Mount Everest is 8848 m and is the highest peak in the world. It is located on the border between Nepal and Tibet. While on the way to Everest Base Camp, one can have chance to see the main Himalayan range that give magnificent view stretching from Makalu to Shishapangma. Below the pass, as we turn the corner into the Rongbuk Valley, one can watch the charming view of Everest than ever. One can also have chance to see the different Monasteries, Temples, Tibetan culture and Traditional around Tibet.
During this trip we will visit also the Nam Tso lake, the biggest salty lake in Tibet, and the Yomdrok Lake.

Itinerary

D-1: flight Kathmandu-Lhasa (3650m) : overnight in hotel

D-2 and D-3 : Lhassa
2 days sightseeing in Lhassa : Jokhang, Barkhor Bazar, Potala, Drepung and Sera
overnight in hotel

D-4 : Lhassa-NamTso-Lhassa
we start early and we drive to NamTso lake on the Qinghai-Tibet highway. We cross Lachen La pass (5150m) and we reah the lake, the biggest salty lake of Tibet (1920 sq km) (4700m).
we walk around the lake and we return to Lhasa.

D-5 : drive to Xigatse (3880m) via Gyantse (3950m)
we pass the kamba La (4800m), nice views of the Yamdrok lake, pass Karo La (5010m) and Simi La and we reach Gyantse.
in Gyantse visit Phalkor monastery and Khumbun Stupa.
Afternoon drive to Xigatse : 90 km.
overnight in guest house.

D-6 : visit Tashilungpo monastery and drive to Shegar (4050m)
overnight in guest house

D-7 : drive to Rongbuk ( 5030m)
Rongbuk is the highest monastery in the world. Breathtaking views of the Everest North face.
overnight in guest house

D-8 : walk toward Everest BC (5400m): 2h
during the walk wonderful views : Everest, Makalu, Lhotse.
return to Rongbuk and drive to Tingri ( 4390m)

D-9 : drive to Zhangmu ( 2300m): 220 km
we pass LalungLa ( 5050m) with breathtaking views on Cho Oyu, Xishapangma and Everest.
overnight in guest house.

D-10 : return to Kathmandu via Khodari : 123km
