Nubra valley trek

The Nubra valley is located north of Ladakh near the Karakorum range and its altitude is lower than Zanskar, thats why it has a mild climate and is therefore richer in vegetation. It is often referred to as the "Orchard of Ladakh". In ancient times, the valley was part of the Caravan Route, today it offers unparalleled trekking opportunities and scenic landscapes. It is also the natural habitat of the double backed Bactrian Camel. Buddhist monasteries flourished in the valley among which the famous Diskit Gompa. This monastery, over 350 years old, is the oldest in the Nubra region. It is also one of the largest.
On this trek we cross the range of mountains north of the Indus valley by a high pass to reach the Nubra and its sand dunes, its charming villages and fields of apple and apricot trees. From the highest points of the trek we have awesome views of the himalayan giants of Karakorum (K2, Masherbrum).
