Kathmandu, Chitwan tour

On this circuit you will experience a glimpse of Kathmandus highlight, the splendors of cultural richness in Bhaktapur and Patan as well as the most popular sight seeing place in Nepal at Nagarkot.
First the trip takes you to some historic and religious sites in Kathmandu, from the famous Stupa of Swayambunath you will get an amazing 360 degres view of the entire valley. Then you will be taken to the fabulous cities of Patan and Bhaktapur for their remarkable architecture. An easy walk through terrace hills and rice paddies will provide you charming glimpses of rural life far away from the atmosphere of the capital and you will reach Nagarkot, one of the best view points of the valley, especially for the sunrise when the weather is clear.
At the end we will finish by a detour in the Chitwan National Park, widely known for one of the richest varieties of wild life adventures, only 160 km from Kathmandu and 150 km from Pokhara. We propose 3 days program: Elephant safari, jeep drive, jungle walk, bird watching, rafting and canoe, visit to crocodile breeding center, discover the unique tradition and culture tharu.

Itinerary

D-1: arrival in Kathmandu and transfert to hotel.

D-2: visit of Kathmandu: Durbar Square and its bazar, temples, royal palace, the goddess Kumaris home.
Afternoon: visit of the Buddhist Stupa of Swayambunath, one of the oldest religious sites of Nepal, worshipped by both Buddhists and Hindus.

D-3: mountain flight early in the morning (1h).
Visit of Pashupatinath, the Benares of Nepal, dedicated to the God Shiva on the Bagmati River and visit of Bouddhanath and its famous Stupa, one of the biggest in southern Asia.

D-4: visit of Patan, ancient Malla capital, an important handicraft center 6 km from KTM. Many temples and remarkable Newari architecture. Transfert and night in Bhaktapur.

D-5: visit of Bhaktapur, the most beautiful Newari city, inscribed on the UNESCOs world heritage site, 13km from Kathmandu.

D-6: Taxi to Changu Narayan, the oldest Hindu temple (sixth century): easy walk to Nagarkot.

D-7: Nagarkot-Bhotechaur: we follow a ridge to Helambu region.

D-8: Bhotechaur-Mulkharka: ascent to Chule and we reach the beginning of the Helambu trek near Sundarijal.

D-9: return to Kathmandu.

D-10: visit of Khokana and Bungamati: traditional Newari villages.

D-11: bus to Chitwan (6h): transfert to hotel.

D-12 and D-13: visit of Chitwan: Elephant safari, jeep drive, jungle walk, bird watching, rafting and canoe, visit to crocodile breeding center, discover the unique tradition and culture tharu.

D-14: return to Kathmandu

D-15: day rest

D-16: transfert to airport and return.
